This inquiry emerged from a blackout poem created from my own writing, The Raven, which is currently under consideration for publication. Using every word that remained, in its original order, I allowed a new piece of writing to emerge.

Community is a place to belong, as well as a place to spend. Want to belong? Sign up for our community newsletter! Community, want to make new friends? Sign up for our upcoming workshop. Community, are you in or are you out? Community? We are in this together, whether we like it or not; we are all, on a daily basis, choosing to rebuild structures, and typically they remain somewhat the same. The same voices show up to say who has access and who doesn’t. The ones with money are participating regularly because they want to keep influencing the way policies are written to decide who gets greater access. What are the consequences?
I wonder why we are okay with people having gluttonous amounts of money? I think at this point we are all beginning to see the relations between systems of power and our lives; are we happy?
