Parenting involves a lot of waiting around during extracurriculars, but I refuse to spend that time glued to my phone like the other dads. Swim practice has become my dedicated space for journaling—a place where I can finally check in with the underlying anxiety and emotions I’ve been putting off all day.
Instead of trying to fix my problems, I write down my stressors and focus on where that tension lives in my body. Releasing that emotional weight helps me process the stress physically, leaving me with a clear head to deal with life objectively.
