Crunchy, crispy, and slightly sweet; it must be these two-ingredient apple chips!

Apple chips: delicious and easily whipped up in minutes! These bite-sized snacks are perfect for keeping around the house, enjoying on the go, or decorating cocktails and mocktails of all sorts.
I don’t know about you, but I am always reaching for chips and dips throughout the day to keep me going. I am not sure what it is, but snack breaks bring me so much joy and comfort. I even keep a tote bag in my car at all times filled with Trader Joe’s goodies like their mixed nuts and seeds, mini artichoke packs, and a jar of peanut butter with lots of Honeycrisp apples. You’ll never see me out and about without a snack ready for when I need it!
So, if you are like me, you will LOVE these healthy, quick and oh-so-easy apple chips. They are flavor-filled and super tasty!
Are Apple Chips Healthy?
Not only are these apple chips a quick snack to whip up, but they’re also completely vegan and made with just two simple ingredients: apples and cinnamon.
Apples are a great source of nutrients, filled with vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants. Cinnamon is one of my favorite ingredients to cook with as it contains anti-inflammatory properties while adding a warm and rich flavor to just about everything you put it on!
If you’re out of cinnamon, just swap it at a one-to-one ratio with ground nutmeg or pumpkin pie spice.
Can I season with other Ingredients?
Yes, you can! It all depends on the flavor you are going for. Do you want apple chips that are more savory or sweet?
For a sweeter apple chip, cover them in maple syrup, cinnamon, salt, and a splash of vanilla extract before baking. Want to enjoy them as a late-night dessert? Dip your baked cinnamon apple chips in dark chocolate and let them set in the refrigerator. Sprinkle the chocolate-covered apple chips with flakey sea salt for a beautiful presentation.
For a more savory twist, skip the cinnamon and stick with sea salt. Or mix it up and try making them with ground coriander seeds, olive oil, freshly ground black pepper, and of course, salt to taste. I put salt on just about everything. Sweet or savory, salt is a must for me!

FAQs & Tips
Store apple chips in a well-sealed, airtight container for up to 1 week. Ensure they are thoroughly dried in the oven to prevent them from going stale after a few days. Make sure they are sealed tightly or else they will lose their crispiness. For best results, consume them the same day. To freeze them for longer storage, place them in an airtight container or bag and store them in the freezer for up to 6 months. To thaw, simply let them sit at room temperature for a few hours.
I recommend you use Fuji, Honeycrisp, or Gala apples for their crisp textures and sweet flavors. When baking, ensure your apple slices are thin – the thinner the crispier they will be. You can even use a mandoline for more consistent slicing. If the chips aren’t crunchy after the initial baking, continue baking in 15-minute increments until perfect.
Dipping the apple slices in lemon juice can prevent browning. Some prefer the natural browning for added character, but if you prefer the lighter color, try this simple lemon juice trick.

Serving Suggestions

You can also use these bite-sized delights to garnish cocktails. The shade of deep brown from the whisky and warmth of the bitters in this Classic Manhattan Cocktail pairs great with these chips. Or swap out the whole cinnamon sticks and top with an apple chip in this Hot Toddy Cocktail.
