Table of Contents
The history of frittatas goes back to some of the oldest civilizations. The ever-popular breakfast dish may have been from Persia and has been popular in Italy, Mediterranean culture, and Spain.
A frittata is like an omelet, but not folded, and like a tortilla, but not flat – I think this is pretty accurate. Normally, frittatas are baked in the oven or cooked on a stovetop, filled with veggies, cheeses, and herbs. Since this dish is so versatile it is quite popular and can be eaten for breakfast, lunch, or even a simple and nutritious dinner.
As the frittata evolved we have been treated with delicious versions like this healthy Egg White Frittata and this savory Potato Frittata. Today we are looking at our newest edition and making this delicious breakfast sausage and veggie-filled frittata in the air-fryer. It is so simple and wholesome!
Is Air Fryer Frittata Healthy?
Yes, this air-fryer frittata is healthy. Eggs are one of the best natural foods on the planet. They are packed with protein, are low in fat and carbs, and can be prepared and eaten in endless ways. Starting your day with plenty of protein allows you to feel fuller longer and helps stabilize blood sugar levels. Additionally, red pepper is the ripest of peppers and contains the most vitamin C, as well as vitamin A and fiber. This recipe follows keto guidelines and can be vegetarian if you leave out the sausage or use plant-based sausage instead.
Why Making Eggs in the Air-Fryer will be your New Go-To
I feel like every time I turn around I have a new recipe to try in my air-fryer. Obviously, one reason I love this method of cooking is because of the ease of cleanup. They also require a lot less cooking time, as well as less oil than traditional methods. Your frittata will be perfectly cooked, with crisp edges and a fluffy inside. Your air-fryer can also cook, pretty much, any other style of eggs. Try some of my favorites like Air-Fryer Scrambled Eggs and Air-Fryer Hard Boiled Eggs.

FAQs & Tips
This frittata can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for three days or in the freezer for three months. When you are ready to enjoy, place the frittata back in the air fryer at 300 degrees for about five minutes.
If you use butter instead of oil, you may run into your frittata sticking to the pan. You can also use parchment paper, which will also make cleanup a breeze.
I feel like there is a lot of trial and error with most recipes. Every air fryer brand is different. In the future take a peek after 12 to 15 minutes to see if it is done. Also, allow your frittata to rest-cook for at least 5 minutes before digging in.
Yes! You can eat your frittata cold or at room temp.
