Enjoy your guacamole with big chunks of avocado and tomato.

It’s amazing how popular guacamole has become compared to even just a decade ago. Obviously, if you’ve tasted guacamole, you know why that’s the case. In fact, guacamole has become so popular that it’s no longer a one-size-fits-all dish. And there are different ways of preparing it to fit your personal preference, which leads me to this recipe for chunky guacamole.
The ingredients in this recipe aren’t much different from other guacamole recipes. However, there is a key difference in how it’s prepared. Instead of mashing all the avocados until they’re smooth, you dice two of them, leaving big chunks of avocado within the guacamole. You’re also free to dice the tomatoes and red onion to whatever size you like so there are big chunks of those vegetables in the dip as well. It may not change the taste of the guacamole, but the texture is distinct from other guacamole recipes.
Speaking of other guacamole recipes, if you find that you don’t like big chunks of avocado, feel free to stick with this classic Guacamole Recipe. You might also have some fun making a copycat version of Chipotle Guacamole, imitating the popular restaurant chain. Also, if you just happen to be a huge fan of avocados, I suggest checking out these recipes for Avocado Salsa and Avocado Hummus.
Is Chunky Guacamole Healthy?
This recipe for chunky guacamole should be just as healthy as any other guacamole. Avocados are known for containing a wide array of vitamins and minerals, including vitamins C and K, potassium, and magnesium. They are also an excellent source of fiber and healthy fat. The other vegetables in the recipe like tomatoes and red onions also help improve the nutritional value of guacamole, which is typically low in calories and sodium.
The Right Amount of Spice
The amount of spice in chunky guacamole is entirely up to you and is something that you can control. The recipe calls for one jalapeño, although you can add an extra jalapeño to the guacamole if you want it to be extra spicy. Of course, if you want a milder guacamole, make sure you remove the seeds from the jalapeño or replace it with a banana pepper. If you prefer a tangy flavor over a spicy flavor, feel free to add an extra tablespoon or two of lime juice.

FAQs & Tips
Whenever the guacamole isn’t being consumed, make sure it’s covered with plastic wrap or in an airtight container with a lid. If you store it tightly covered in the fridge, the guacamole should stay good for 2-3 days.
There is a belief that avocado pits can delay the guacamole turning brown. The pit might slow down oxidation but only in the part of the guacamole that actually touches it. Since browning occurs when guacamole is exposed to air, a better way to delay the browning is to press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole, pressing down gently to eliminate all air pockets.

Serving Suggestions
The most common way to enjoy chunky guacamole is as a dip. In this case, I suggest making homemade Keto Tortilla Chips to enjoy with your guacamole. Of course, this isn’t the only way to enjoy guacamole. I sometimes use it as a topping when making Juicy Grilled Chicken Breast or Grilled Cod. I also find that a scoop of chunky guacamole is a great addition to Shrimp Tacos – or any other type of taco.
