This Honey Mustard Dressing is good on everything–drizzle, dip, or spread it!
It may be nearly fall, but if you ask me, we’re still deep in salad season! You know, salad season. It’s the time of year when it’s always sunny, and it stays light out forever, and the only thing you want to eat is a crisp, refreshing salad.
Maybe this is just a “me” thing, but I live for salad season. If you’ve seen my recipe for Honey Balsamic Dressing, you already know about my journey into salad-making. And with great salads come great dressings, like this Honey Mustard Dressing.
If you ask me, the dressing makes the salad. You could go tangy, sweet, savory, or spicy, and you’ll always end up with a totally different (albeit always delicious) flavor profile. Honey Mustard Dressing is no exception—it brings a creamy balance of sweet and tangy, with just enough of a kick to make you want seconds. And thirds. And the whole salad bowl. Really.
Is Honey Mustard Dressing Recipe Healthy?
My Honey Mustard Dressing uses wholesome ingredients like Dijon mustard, honey, apple cider vinegar, and extra-virgin olive oil to provide a balanced dressing with no added preservatives. Dijon is full of antioxidants, while the apple cider vinegar helps with weight loss, and the olive oil packs this dressing with good, healthy fats.
Is Honey Mustard Dressing The Same As Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce?
Honey Mustard Dressing is not exactly the same as Honey Mustard Sauce, which makes a great condiment on sandwiches, meats, and burgers! Instead, this Honey Mustard Dressing combines the two signature ingredients– honey and mustard– with oil and vinegar to create a lighter, drizzle-able (yup, that’s a word) dressing.
To achieve this texture, whisk your ingredients together. You should also choose a high-quality Dijon, and I recommend using raw honey for richness and depth of flavor.

This Honey Mustard Dressing is not spicy, but you can easily add heat with peppers of your choice, chili oil, or cayenne pepper! I like to add a bit of hot honey to my version of the recipe in addition to regular honey.
You can store Honey Mustard Dressing at room temperature since all the ingredients are non-perishable, but the dressing may stay fresh longer in the fridge.
