The perfect lunchtime meal that’s easy to make at home.
Whether at home or out to eat, I find that one of my favorite lunchtime meals is a chicken Caesar wrap. It’s so simple yet so delicious at the same time. To be fair, there are plenty of things I like to eat when they’re wrapped in a delicious soft tortilla. But a chicken Caesar wrap is definitely among my favorites, and not just because it only requires a handful of ingredients and can be made in a few short minutes.
A chicken Caesar wrap is like a salad and a sandwich wrapped into one. I almost can’t explain how perfectly all of the ingredients blend together. The chicken and the lettuce go so well together, and you get just enough of the croutons, cheese, and dressing to know they’re present, too. Considering it’s just a few simple ingredients inside a tortilla, a chicken Caesar wrap overflows with flavor.
As I mentioned, this isn’t the only type of wrap I like to eat. A couple of similar recipes I enjoy are Asian chicken lettuce wraps and Thai lettuce wraps. Of course, if the Caesar dressing piques your interest, I also think you’ll love a Caesar grilled chicken burger.
Is Chicken Caesar Wrap Healthy?
There are plenty of nutritional benefits to eating chicken Caesar wrap. Naturally, the chicken provides a good dose of protein. Thanks mainly to the romaine lettuce, there is a significant amount of vitamin A in this dish, not to mention calcium, potassium, iron, and other nutrients as well. Unfortunately, there is a downside to a chicken Caesar wrap. There are 5 grams of saturated fat and over 700 milligrams of sodium. Both are more than 30% of the recommended daily amount. That’s why you may only be able to enjoy eating this in moderation, especially if you’re watching your sodium or counting calories.
Chicken Prep
How you prepare the chicken for your chicken Caesar wrap can impact how tasty and healthy it is. If you can, use an air fryer to prepare the chicken. Otherwise, baking the chicken might be your best option. Of course, using leftover chicken from a previous meal is a good way to be resourceful. Either way, chop the chicken into small pieces before mixing it with the other ingredients.
Regarding the other ingredients, feel free to experiment with items not listed in the recipe. For example, if I have some bacon around, I like to cook a piece or two and cut that up into smaller pieces to put in the wrap. Depending on your tastes, you can also try spinach, red roasted peppers, artichokes, tomato slices, or avocado in your chicken Caesar wrap.

FAQs & Tips
You can always prep the chicken and store the ingredients for a chicken Caesar wrap a few days ahead of time. Just make sure you don’t add the croutons until you’re about to eat them; otherwise, they can get soggy.
The best way to prevent a soggy chicken Caesar wrap is to have a layer of greens, such as lettuce or spinach, as the first layer on the tortilla. This can add an extra layer that will prevent the dressing and other ingredients from making the wrap soggy.
Serving Suggestions
If you want your chicken Caesar wrap to feel like a full meal, make a side dish or two. A piece of fruit or a coconut milk quinoa fruit salad is usually a safe choice. You could also consider making a three bean Mexican corn black bean salad. If you have the time, I would recommend a classic macaroni salad or pasta salad. I’m also a big fan of complementing a chicken Caesar wrap with apple coleslaw.
Chicken Caesar Wrap
Ingredients
- 4 cups romaine lettuce chopped
- 2 cups cooked chicken breast shredded
- 1/2 cup Caesar dressing
- 1/2 cup croutons
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese grated
- 4 large flour tortillas
Instructions
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped romaine lettuce, shredded chicken, Caesar dressing, croutons and grated Parmesan cheese. Toss well to ensure all ingredients are evenly coated with the dressing.
-
Warm the flour tortillas in a skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side, or until they are pliable. This makes them easier to wrap without tearing.
-
Divide the salad mixture among the tortillas, placing it in the center of each. Fold in the sides of the tortillas and roll them up tightly to secure the filling. Serve immediately or wrap in foil to keep warm until serving.
