As soon as I hear ‘chicken wings’, I think it must be a celebration. A graduation party, a game-day get-together, a picnic, a tailgating party, Father’s Day or Mother’s Day, or a birthday. Wait. That doesn’t cover Memorial Day, the 4th of July, and Labor Day!
One of the first dishes I ever made for a crowd was a chicken recipe for a graduation party. This recipe, with its dry rub and vinegar tang, takes me right back there. You can make a little or a lot. This recipe is easy to double, triple, or quadruple. It’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser. Serve it with cool and crunchy celery, and a variety of dips, such as this Easy Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce. Are Chicken wings Healthy?
These wings are high in protein, and baking is healthier than frying chicken. These are easily made in small portions, simply by the size of the wings you purchase. As part of a spread with a wide variety of offerings, it’s going to be big on taste and tang while not overwhelming the dinner plate with anything too unhealthy. It’s a fun food, and we all need a little of the fun food here and there. The vinegar is absolutely healthy, containing plenty of acetic acid, which may help with blood sugar management. Is using Foil Necessary?
Focus- Lining the baking dish with foil is one method for ensuring the crispy texture you’re looking for. It also makes for super easy transporting and clean up. If you don’t like to use aluminum foil in cooking, just be sure your pan is well-coated with cooking spray.
It’s possible to toss the wings with a pinch to a teaspoon of cornstarch and baking powder each to add more crispiness but experiment to see what works best for you. This recipe is so simple, no need to complicate it.

- 3 tablespoons white distilled vinegar
- 2 tablespoons seafood seasoning blend
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Preheat
Get oven ready at 400 degrees F.
Season
Coat wings with seasoning blend.
Bake
Cook wings until crispy, flipping halfway.
Dress
Toss baked wings in vinegar and salt.
FAQs & Tips
This is best made the day of. If you have it ready early, it’s fine to keep hot in a low oven (160-200 degrees F). In the unlikely event you have leftovers, it can be stored in the fridge for 2-3 days and reheated in the oven or air fryer. If it’s going to be longer than 2-3 days, it needs to go into the freezer.
Apple Cider Vinegar, balsamic, and wine vinegars may be a little overwhelming for this. They may contain sediments that won’t be as aesthetically pleasing. An infused white vinegar can add depth to the flavor, though. Try a pear-infused vinegar, or one with berry undertones.
These could be made and kept hot in a roasting pan to take for a potluck.
Serving Suggestions

Salt and Vinegar Chicken Wings
Ingredients
- 2 lbs fresh chicken wings approx 20 wings and drums
- Nonstick cooking spray
- 3 tablespoons white distilled vinegar
- 2 tablespoons seafood seasoning blend
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.

In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with the seafood seasoning blend until they are evenly coated.

Line a baking sheet with foil and apply a light coating of nonstick cooking spray. Arrange the wings on the baking sheet in a single layer.

Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, then flip them over and continue baking for another 25 minutes until they are crispy and fully cooked.

While the wings are baking, mix the white distilled vinegar and sea salt in a bowl.

Once the wings are done, toss them in the vinegar and salt mixture to coat evenly.
