How to make Parsnip Oven FriesĀ
Preheat
Set your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.Ā
Slice
Peel all the parsnips and slice them into ¼ inch strips. Toss them, first with the oil, then with the starch until well coated and combined.Ā
Spread
Carefully spread out the fries onto your pan, leaving space between each fry. You may need to use 2 pans to ensure even baking and to not overcrowd them. Sprinkle the fries with seasoning salt and regular salt.Ā
Bake
Bake for 10 minutes, then remove pans from the oven and sprinkle with a little bit more seasoning salt. Place the pans back in the oven and continue baking an additional 7-15 minutes, or until the fries are golden and crispy.Ā

Serve them up and enjoy!

Parsnip Fries FAQ
Parsnips are a similar color to potatoes so they look kind of like traditional french fries, but they have a complex taste. Similar to carrots, parsnips have a slight sweetness to them, but they also contain more starch so they have an earthy, nutty flavor that makes them PERFECT for these fries!Ā
Parsnips and Potatoes are different. When you are deciding whether to make a batch of fries with russet potatoes or this baked parsnip fries recipe, you might be wondering which is a healthier choice. The truth is, the two vegetables contain similar nutritional value, although parsnips are lower in calories and much higher in fiber.Ā
No, you donāt need to boil the parsnips. You will need to simply peel and chop the parsnips, rub them with a little oil and seasoning, and theyāll be ready to roast!
