WOAH, what a few weeks/months/years it has been, we are only a few months in and it seems like a whole decade as pasted already. The whole world is on lockdown, its like we are living in a movie. I have been burning a lot sage and trying to meditate more in addition to carbo loading, online shopping, face time happy houring with my fam, and whatever else I can do to stay sane and enjoy this unique time.
If you have kids like me you are now responsible for teaching them, yikes! I love hanging with my kids and they are usually pretty easy, chill people, but they are used to their AMAZING teachers being in charge of school stuff and me in charge of home stuff. So we are all adjusting, my main thing is I don’t want them to be scared or worried about whats going on. I really hope they just see this as crazy but fun and different times. They know they are safe, thats what is important to me.
Our jobs, daily lives, and relationships are all changing. As a yoga teacher my job has changed a lot, just like a lot of people, so I am looking for ways to make myself and my family feel a little more normal. Right now, instead in person/in studio classes I am teaching live stream class on the internet, if you know me at all, this is not an easy thing for me to do. I am not that great with my phone or computer and I am super uncomfortable on camera, like I used to freeze up like a crazy person when someone would want to take my picture. So this has been a massive adjustment for me. In addition to being live online in my living room, I miss my students, I missed the shared space and energy, and really miss the hugs. I am however super grateful to be able to continue to teach classes and hopefully make people feel better as we navigate through these weird times. The daily commitment of class has been great for me too, I always feel better when I am done and I feel happy and grateful as look through my live class participants. Its nice to know that you guys are still kinda with me.
I am wanting to add some prerecorded classes online as well for anyone who can’t make it to watch the live classes. I have been looking at some options and would love to get some feedback from those who follow me and take my classes.
Instagram has worked well, however it seems like the classes only stick around for 24 hours. An option I found is a “private” You Tube channel, here you could get access to a library of prerecorded classes as well as live classes to join. I am checking into the details for this now. I would love to hear if this is something that would interest anyone.
I can’t wait until things get start to get back to normal, for now, we adjust and do what we can to stay positive and helpful. I hope everyone is hanging in there!
Namaste
